Softlab rebrands as Cirquent

13. December 2007

Softlab is to change its name to Cirquent, as from January 2008.

With headquarters in Munich, the 1900-strong consultancy company has until now successfully operated a number of brands under the Softlab Group umbrella. The objective of the new name, however, is to bring together its full range of competences under a single uniform brand. This will strengthen its positioning as a provider of first-class consulting services throughout the entire added-value chain – with a focus on banks, insurance companies, telecommunications providers and the manufacturing industry.

Cirquent, originally established as Softlab GmbH in 1971, has grown strongly in recent years as a result of acquisitions of new, innovative business areas which have complemented and increased the range of consulting, IT solutions and services provided to a growing market.

The launch of the new brand name is the culmination of this successful development and marks the start of a new company providing a range of services from a single source. By adopting a business-orientated strategic and process-centric approach, Cirquent will provide consultancy advice designed to support the improved operation and maintenance of IT systems.

“Our new image is a clear signal to the market,” says Peter Broicher, chairman of the Executive Board of Cirquent. “We will continue to build on our 35 years of success, by providing combined competences and focusing on our consultancy expertise.

“At the same time, as we compete with major players in the industry, our aim will continue to be reflected by our ‘Credible Consulting’ philosophy. This will be achieved by creating substantial added value for our customers, offering solutions which are tailored to their individual requirements.”

Cirquent is one of Germany’s leading consultancy companies, reflected in its position in the top ten of the Lünendonk List 2007. The company operates from five locations in Germany and also has offices in the UK, Austria and Switzerland which will also trade under the Cirquent name. In 2006, Cirquent grew its sales to €266 million, an 80% increase over 2003. In 2007, the company expects to generate sales of €300 million.

“With Cirquent, the individual pieces of the jigsaw have been brought together to create a highly-focused process and technology company”, says Thomas Lünendonk, owner of Lünendonk GmbH. “It will be exciting to see the potential which results from this newly-integrated portfolio, both in Germany and internationally.”
